Lissa is a representational painter who focuses on the human figure and the landscape. Primarily, she paints en plein air (outdoors), in Baltimore City, throughout Maryland’s beautiful countryside, the coast, and at many other captivating locations across the country and beyond. Lissa enjoys capturing the light at various times of the day through the use of bold colors. Her preferred medium are oil paints. She uses a combination of palette knife and brushwork that enables her to create texture and depth in her paintings.

Art10 is a professional group of nine artists who have painted together for more than 10 years. The artists have exhibited and sold their work in juried and non-juried shows throughout the U.S.

While the work of the group as a whole could be described as expressionistic contemporary and evocative, each artist employs a unique blend of color, creativity, and composition.

NEW ART EXHIBIT: Susan Adler Davis

Stop into the cafe to see our latest art exhibit featuring many colorful regional landscapes created by Susan Adler Davis. Mark your calendar to join us for an “Artist Meet & Greet” next Thursday, Sept. 20, 4:30-6 pm.

MORE ABOUT THE ARTIST: Susan Adler Davis is a 4th generation Baltimorean and has deep ties to the area. Her paintings reflect the history and significance of the landscapes and buildings she paints. Each tries to depict the essence of the subject matter.

Trained as a weaver at the Maryland Institute College of Art under Virginia West, she holds a BFA in Crafts with a minor in Art History. She also holds an MAT in Art Education from the College of Notre Dame of Maryland.

Susan started painting 6 years ago after retiring from the Baltimore County Public Schools. She works in acrylics, both on canvas and fabric, which she then quilts. She is currently studying at the Zoll Studio of Fine Arts under Bennett Vadnais.

Susan’s great-great aunt was also an artist and collector, Saidie Adler May, who gave the bulk of her massive art collection to the Baltimore Museum of Art. Susan has written her biography, “Saidie Adler May, Pioneer of Early Twentieth Century Art Collecting.”
